Loch Lomond inks Nordic distribution deal

Scotch whisky producer Loch Lomond Group has signed a new distribution agreement with Five Eyes for the Nordic region.

Stockholm-based Five Eyes is part of the Solera Beverage Group and specialises in the marketing, sales and distribution of wines and spirits in airlines, airport shops, border shops, cruise lines and in-flight sales across the Nordic and Baltic regions.

The firm will now handle Loch Lomond’s global travel retail whisky brands with an aim to extend their reach across the region.

In September last year, Loch Lomond Group launched two collections of its Glen Scotia and namesake Loch Lomond brands into global travel retail.

“Five Eyes will play a fundamental role in the launch of our new GTR range across Loch Lomond and Glen Scotia Scotch whisky brands with Nordic consumers in 2017,” said André de Almeida, managing director for GTR at Loch Lomond Group.

“[Its] expertise in creating growth for brands and [its] understanding of how to build the business locally across airports, airlines, border shops, cruise ships and ferries is second to none.”

In May 2017, Five Eyes strengthened opened a central warehouse and logistics platform, allowing it to serve all Nordic travel retail customers.

“The co-operation [with Loch Lomond] will strengthen our position as a serious player in the important single malt category and give us an established brand in the standard Scotch segment,” added Fredrik Borin, managing director of Five Eyes Beverage Group.
