Greg Dillon releases Great Drams book

Spirits expert and brand consultant Greg Dillon has penned a book containing stories of Scotch whisky brands throughout history.

The Great Drams of Scotland: A conversational meander through the rich history of Scotch has been published by RedDoor and will be released on 12 October at an RRP of £19.99.

The book is said to “decode labels and demystify malts and blends through tales dating back to the 15th century, right up to present day, chronicling brands that have contributed to the overall global success of Scotch”.

Dillon, author of the Great Drams blog and winner of the Best Food & Drink Blog award at the UK Blog Awards 2017, said he expects the book will appeal to a different audience to GreatDrams.com.

“This book is something very personal to me because it collates so many of my tales of enjoyment that came about through understanding whisky and making pilgrimages to distilleries across Scotland – there are 28 distilleries and 23 brands in The Great Drams of Scotland,” said Dillon.

Each of the Scotch whiskies that have made it onto the pages either touched me through their storytelling or their people.”

Clare Christian, publisher at RedDoor, added: “The Great Drams of Scotland encompasses all that we as a publisher stand for: fresh, interesting content and beautiful packaging with an ambitious and expert author at the helm.

“RedDoor is delighted to be working with Greg on this project, and we look forward to seeing Great Drams released to the world.”

The Great Drams of Scotland will be available direct from GreatDrams.com, as well as Amazon, Waterstones and independent book stores.
