A number of brands have joined forces to form the vodka category’s first collaborative drinks body – The Global Vodka Alliance, which will focus on “education, integrity and innovation within vodka”.
The alliance is a group of brands, influencers, bartenders and industry experts – however the names of those involved have not yet been disclosed.
It will largely operate as a website that features an “exhaustive” vodka directory, as well as tools that allow consumers to explore various aspects of the industry, such as base ingredients and production methods. Vodka cocktail recipes will also feature on the website to showcase new products.
A dedicated trade section of the website will offer insight on trends, recent research, events and other marketing activations.
“This is a positive and very exciting step for vodka as a category, having a place to promote the world’s most versatile spirit in new, engaging and progressive ways will move the category forward and we can’t wait to see where it will go,” said Ben Lindsay, co-founder of The Global Vodka Alliance.
The alliance’s website is set to launch in October this year, however social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter are already active.
