Stoli stars in Atomic Blonde film

SPI Group has partnered with Universal Pictures to feature its Stolichnaya Vodka brand in upcoming action spy film Atomic Blonde, starring Charlize Theron.

Oscar-winning actor Theron stars as MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton, who calls for “Stoli on ice” as her drink of choice in the film.

The multi-media campaign includes television advertising, out-of-home, print, digital, and social media content from June until August.

The campaign also features a 1980s-themed Pandora digital station that celebrates the music from the Atomic Blonde soundtrack.

Cinema chains across the US will also offer a menu of four signature Atomic Blonde Stoli cocktails in limited edition cups.

“Upon reading the script and identifying the shared similarities between the Stoli brand and Agent Broughton, we knew this was a natural and organic opportunity that matched our brand’s unapologetically bold character,” said Russell Pareti, vice president of marketing at Stoli Group USA.

“It also reinforces our quality and authentic heritage – as this was a specific choice made to fit her character.

“Indeed, Stoli has been an icon since 1938 and her call for Stoli on ice is the quintessential way of drinking vodka – pure and cold with no fuss. We are excited to be a partner of Atomic Blonde which sets a new genre and level in style.”

Atomic Blonde arrives in theatres nationwide on 28 July. Stoli Vodka will also serve as the official sponsor of the film’s red carpet premiere in Los Angeles in late July.
