Pernod Ricard UK names new marketing director

Pernod Ricard has promoted Philip Ainsworth to the role of marketing director for its UK business, as Patrick Venning moves to the group’s Scotch whisky team.

Philip Ainsworth has been appointed marketing director at Pernod Ricard UK

Venning, who has worked at Pernod Ricard UK for nearly 13 years, has been appointed global marketing director for Pernod Ricard-owned Ballantine’s Finest and Chivas Brothers’s ‘introduction to Scotch’ portfolio.

“Our marketing department continues to inspire and innovate the industry, by consistently delivering engaging campaigns for our premium portfolio of leading brands,” said Laurent Pillet, managing director of Pernod Ricard UK.

“This is testament to Patrick’s leadership and we’ve ensured his successor possesses the same drive and determination to make us stand out.”

Ainsworth stepped into role on 3 July, and will report directly to Pillet.

He previously worked for Majestic Wine, Enotria Winecellars and Bodegas Riojanas before joining Pernod Ricard in 2008 as international regional manager.

Ainsworth was appointed regional director in charge of EMEA (excluding the UK, France and Spain) in 2012 and most recently acted as marketing director for Wyborowa Pernod Ricard, based in Poland.

Earlier this year, Pernod Ricard UK appointed Ian Peart to the role of business development director and Mark Harris as channel director, on-trade.
