Beam Suntory’s chief strategy officer steps down
By Annie HayesAfter just 18 months in the role, Beam Suntory’s chief strategy officer Steve Fechheimer has left the company to become New Belgium Brewing Company’s chief executive officer.
Beam Suntory’s chief strategy officer Steve Fechheimer is stepping down from the roleFechheimer joined was promoted from vice president – strategy and corporate development to the newly-created role of chief strategy officer in January 2016, where he was responsible for overseeing corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and IT.
Before joining Beam Suntory, then known as Beam Inc, in 2009, Fechheimer worked in business consulting.
A spokesperson from Beam Suntory said: “While we will miss Steve’s keen insights, skill and experience, we are excited for him to have such an exciting professional opportunity as a CEO and we wish him all the best.”
He will assume the CEO role at the Colorado-based ‘craft’ brewery in mid-August.
