Angus Dundee releases 50yo blended grain whisky
Scotch maker Angus Dundee Distillers has launched its “first very mature blended grain” whisky – a 50-year-old expression.

The limited edition Angus Dundee 50 Year Old Blended Grain Scotch has been made using wheat, un-malted cereals and malted barley, and distilled in classic column stills.
Just five American white oak barrels were selected to create the expression, said to offer flavours of vanilla, toffee, prunes, plums, spicy tobacco, and mocha chocolate.
“I never thought mature grain whisky could exhibit such depth of flavour and quality,” said Duncan Baldwin, brand development director. “This 50-year-old blend is extraordinarily good.”
Angus Dundee 50 Year Old Blended Grain Scotch will be available in travel retail and select domestic markets. The UK RRP is £899, and €1,000 in Europe (US$1,146). The whisky has been bottled at a cask strength of 40.1% abv.
Earlier this year, Angus Dundee Distillers launched a limited edition Glencadam 13-year-old single malt Scotch whisky in celebration of the distillery’s reopening 13 years ago.
Angus Dundee Distillers also creates the Tomintoul, Old Ballantruan, and Glen Parker single malts, as well as the Big Ben and Smokey Joe blends.
