ABD names new president and CEO

Officer’s Choice owner Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD) has appointed Paramjit Singh Gill as company president and CEO.

In his new position, Gill will report directly to Deepak Roy, executive vice chairman, ABD.

Roy said: “We are delighted to welcome Paramjit on board, I am confident that his rich experience, knowledge and proficiency will prove to be an invaluable asset to the company.”

Gill brings 25 years of experience with him to the role, having previously worked at United Spirits (USL) and United Breweries (UB) – most recently in the position of president of all India operations at USL.

He first started working in the alcoholic beverages industry in 1992 having spent nine years in Glaxo’s food division. By 1996, Gill was working in a senior leadership role at United National Breweries, South Africa.

More than a decade later in 2007, Gill moved to USL where he worked as regional profit centre head of Northern India.

Gill said: “It is an honour to join Allied Blenders & Distillers. With Officer’s Choice, ABD has created a culture of providing a quality product at a very affordable price as it continues to lead the regular whisky segment. I look forward to an exciting journey ahead.”
