After “resounding feedback” from The Sipsmith Sipping Society, which launched in September last year, the distillery has released Sipsmith Strawberries & Cream Gin Liqueur to the general public to tie in with the 2017 edition of the oldest tennis tournament in the world, Wimbledon.

The liquid offers “rich strawberry cheesecake with a touch of vanilla” on the nose, “summer fruits, strawberries and cream, and Campino boiled sweets” on the palate, and “ice cream, rich red fruits and hints of pudding wine” on the finish.

Created by Sipsmith’s head distiller, Ollie Kitson, and bottled at 31% abv, the liqueur is made using the distillery’s London Dry Gin, fresh strawberries and a ‘milk sugar’.

“At Sipsmith we pride ourselves on making the very best London Dry Gin possible and our recipe was born through a journey of experimentation and innovation,” said Jared Brown, master distiller at Sipsmith.

“Blending our award-winning London Dry Gin to craft delicious new flavours is always a fascinating and inspiring process. The Sipping Society is the perfect way for us to share these extraordinary gin flavours and we are delighted to be marking the brilliantly British moment of Wimbledon with a superbly sippable gin.”

Sipsmith suggest topping a measure of the liqueur with bubbles to create the Berry Fizz, or combining 45ml Strawberries and Cream Gin Liqueur, 20ml lime juice, soda to top and a strawberry garnish for a Wimbledon Collins.

The set is £15 and comprises a 90ml bottle of Strawberries and Cream Gin Liqueur accompanied by with a 50ml London Dry Gin bottle. The set is exclusively available online from Sipsmith at www.sipsmith.com.
