Birmingham Cocktail Weekend takes in 31 venues

The Birmingham Cocktail Weekend (BCW) initiative returns for 2017, with 31 venues in the UK city offering £4 cocktails from 14-16 July.

The consumer event returns for a third year, with thousands of participants set to purchase wristbands and take part.

Cognac brand Courvoisier is a headline sponsor, and Birmingham’s Hotel du Vin will serve as the event’s ‘hub’. Other participating venues include Gusto, Chung Ying Central, Bistro 1847 and Bodgea.

Consumers will also find unusual venues on the cocktail trail, including a museum, theatre, hotel lobby and an underground hideaway.

“After the success of the last two years, I am so exciting to be bringing BCW back for 2017,” said founder and organiser Alex Nicholson-Evans.

“In 2016 over 3,000 wristband wearers joined us to explore the city, try new flavours and get to know the brands behind some of our favourite cocktails. This year we’ve got an even bigger line-up of incredible venues; it’s going to be a fantastic event and I am looking forward to announcing even more venues in the coming months.”

Birmingham is growing in influence in the UK cocktail scene. In recent months, Bacardi Brown-Forman targeted the city during its on-trade initiative Jigger, Breaker, Glass, and The Vamps frontman Bradley Simpson opened a bar.
