Drinks luminaries join BBFB’s bartender education tour

Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB) has launched Jigger, Beaker, Glass – a UK-wide tour comprising workshops and seminars with talks from noted bartending experts.

Modelled on Charles H Baker’s global drinks guide of the same name, Jigger, Beaker, Glass aims to “educate and inspire” bartenders across the UK.

BBFB has partnered with 11 “trade trailblazers” including The Gibson’s Marian Beke, Sager + Wilde’s Marcis Dzelzainis, and The American Bar at The Savoy’s Eric Lorincz.

The tour kicked off in Birmingham at the beginning of April with sessions led by JJ Goodman, founder of London Cocktail Club alongside the BBFB ambassador team.

Eight workshops hosted in a selection of innovative UK bars will follow, the next instalment to take place in Manchester led by Trash Tiki founders Iain Griffiths and Kelsey Ramage.

Together they will deliver a series of workshops and seminars separated into Jigger, a skill-based session focusing on flavour enhancers; Beaker, which focuses on anti-waste practices; and Glass, showcasing Trash Tiki cocktails with a lesson on how to create them.

At the end of the tour, the BBFB team will curate a “cocktail-lovers’ guide to the UK” containing drinks from each city, to be released as an ode to the original Charles H Baker title.

Bartenders who attend the workshops have the opportunity to submit their cocktail creations for consideration.
