Pernod Ricard restructures GTR business
French drinks group Pernod Ricard has combined its three travel retail regions into one global organisation, which will be headquartered in London.
Pernod Ricard’s new travel retail structure marks a new “unified global approach”
Pernod Ricard’s Travel Retail Asia Pacific, Travel Retail EMEA and Travel Retail Americas businesses will be consolidated into a single entity – Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail.
Launching on 1 July 2017, the organisation will be headed by Mohit Lal, who previously acted at president and CEO of Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Asia Pacific, and was named chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail during an executive reshuffle last year.
Lal will be supported by Frank Lapeyre, current president and CEO of Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Americas, as chief operating officer; Nodjame Fouad, current marketing director of Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Asia Pacific, as VP marketing at Pernod Ricard GTR; Olivier Gasperin, current VP finance, GTR and Asia Pacific, as VP finance Pernod Ricard GTR; and Angel Li, current VP human resources GTR and Asia, as VP human resources Pernod Ricard GTR.
The “next steps” of Ian Williams, current managing director of Pernod Ricard Travel Retail EMEA “will be announced at a later stage”.
Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail will be supported by market-based business units “with a clear mission to drive topline growth and maximise value creation by being close to the markets”. The travel retail channel is Pernod Ricard’s fourth largest market.
“The new organisation will allow Pernod Ricard to fully capture the undeniable growth potential of this channel by its unified global approach,” the company said.
“It will also ensure a more effective collaboration with brand companies and key customers, and guarantee that all travelers are able to find their favourite Pernod Ricard brands in their duty-free outlets to take home.”
