Jameson launches film comp with Dominic West
By Nicola CarruthersJameson Irish whiskey is giving budding filmmakers the chance to write and direct a short film starring British actor Dominic West in its annual Jameson First Shot competition.
Dominic West will be featured in the short films for Jameson One Shot
Jameson First Shot gives three filmmakers a first step into the film industry and “celebrates talented individuals with incredible stories to tell”.
The competition asks aspiring filmmakers to be “equally brave, forthright and committed”, taking inspiration from the brand’s motto ‘Sine Metu’, meaning ‘without fear’.
In addition to directing West and having the support of a highly experienced film crew, the Jameson First Shot winners will also have the help of a leading producer and access to the wider film community.
Dana Brunetti, who has produced award-winning pieces for film and television, will sit alongside each the winners on set, providing them with support, guidance and input when needed.
In the sixth year of the competition, Jameson has expanded its catchment area to include entrants living in the following countries: US, UK, Ireland, Canada, South Africa, Bulgaria, Australia and Israel.
The competition is open now and the rules, including length and theme, can be found at: www.jamesonfirstshot.com.
