Chetiyawardana and Firefly craft botanical juice blend
By Annie HayesNoted bartender Ryan Chetiyawardana has teamed up with botanical juice brand Firefly to launch Superfly, a limited edition drink containing kola nut, cascara syrup and green coffee.

Designed by B&B Studio, the bottle features bold illustrations inspired by botanical books, as well as sketches and a personal signature from Chetiyawardana.
“Superfly takes all the learnings I’d usually apply to a cocktail and frame this in the idea of helping people get together over a drink,” said Chetiyawardana. “Without being sticky and sweet, or relying on alcohol, Superfly has a bright bittersweet finish using many of the botanicals found in historic spirits, and those used as uplifting stimulants, aphrodisiacs and liveners or to encourage socialisation.”
The liquid is said to offer a “complex” flavour, finishing with “a touch of bitterness” through notes of Wormwood.
Sarah Brooks, head of marketing for Firefly Drinks said: “Both the Firefly and Mr Lyan brands draw on botany to create unique flavours and with the craft spirit trend spilling over into softs, now is the perfect time to partner with an award-winning mixologist to create an exciting non-alcoholic drink.”
Superfly is available in all Mr Lyan bars, from The Cinnamon Group and in Selfridges at the RRP of £1.99. It will roll out into Ocado and the rest of the on-trade from 1 June.
In February, Dandelyan launched new cocktail menu The Vices of Botany, focusing on “exploitation, escapism and guilty pleasures”.
