Carthy & Black unveils cream liqueur range
Yorkshire-based drinks producer Intercontinental Brands has added locally-made cream liqueur brand Carthy & Black to its portfolio.
Carthy & Black’s cream liqueur collection includes a whisky variant and two gin liqueurs
The collection of cream liqueurs includes a “velvety” whisky variety and two gin liqueurs – a “refreshing” ‘original’ version and a lemon gin cream, inspired by Bettys Tea Room’s lemon and lime cake.
The gin liqueurs are made using Slingsby Gin, a locally-made gin produced by Intercontinental Brand’s sister company Spirit of Harrogate.
Bottled at 17% abv, each liqueur has been produced using fresh cream from Paynes Dairies’ in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire.
“Yorkshire and the Dales are home to some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes,” said Marcus Black, co-founder and joint managing director. “The rich, diverse soil yields the interesting and unusual ingredients, which go into creating this delicious collection of drinks.
Mike Carthy, who joins Black as co-founder and managing director, adds: “Inspired by the success of Spirit of Harrogate’s Slingsby Gin, we wanted to create a range of drinks that showcases all that Yorkshire has to offer. We like to push the boundaries with innovation and experimented with new ways in which to give the classic cream liqueur an unexpected twist.”
