Au Vodka sets sail in travel retail

British brand Au Vodka is readying to launch in the travel retail channel after agreeing principle terms with Scandinavian ferry operator Viking Line.

The Viking Line fleet manages routes between Finland, the Åland Islands , Sweden and Estonia, and sells more than 80,000 bottles a year. Au Vodka founders Jackson Quinn and Charles Morgan describe the agreement as a “very exciting opportunity”.

In addition, the brand has recently secured listings in all Harvey Nichols stores across the UK for its 70cl bottle format and golden gift packs.

The brand also says it has “lucrative” distribution deals in the pipeline with companies in Canada, South Africa and China, and has produced 75cl formats to comply with certain requirements ahead of planned launched later this year.

Other deals about to be signed include contracts with “very influential global celebrities”, who sought out the brand on social media, the founders say.

“We are finally about to sign the contract this week and start our journey together as business partners,” they continue.

“We hope this will really launch our brand in terms of demand… the next step for us is to leverage this demand by teaming up with a big distribution company in the UK.”

Au Vodka is available in Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in the UK now.
