Ron Vacilón enters German market
By Nicola CarruthersGerman spirits producer Borco has launched four expressions of its Cuban rum brand Ron Vacilón into the German market.
Rum brand Ron Vacilón is made from Cuban sugar canesHandmade in the Destilería Heriberto Duquesne in Remedio, Ron Vacilón is made from Cuban sugar canes.
The rum is produced ‘according to Cuban traditions’, and is matured in American oak barrels.
Caña de Cuba Aguardiente is described as “clear and fresh Aguardiente with intense herb, citrus and medical plant aromas”.
Ron Vacilón 3 Años has a “balanced aroma of fresh sugar cane juice, light and elegant vanilla, brewed coffee and oranges” enhanced by a three-year ageing process.
The third offering, Ron Vacilón 5 Años, has been matured in American white oak barrels for five years, which adds a “slightly sweet taste with hints of wild flowers, fine vanilla beans and creamy chocolate paired with aromas of fine cacao, soft nougat and vanilla”.
Ron Vacilón 7 Años is characterized by notes of “raisins, pineapple and roasted nuts”. Seven years of ageing in American oak barrels has imparted a “wonderfully balanced taste between bittersweet chocolate, honey and toasty oak”.
