Old Forester Bourbon reveals new-look bottles
By Amy HopkinsBrown-Forman’s Old Forester Bourbon has revamped the packaging for its Classic and Signature expressions in order to emphasise the brand’s history.
Both Old Forester Classic 86 Proof – the brand’s core expression – and Old Forester Signature 100 Proof will feature a new glass shape, premium metal closure, foil embellishments, “refined” lower label and an enlarged founder’s statement.
“The Old Forester redesign evokes the brand’s historical packaging,” said Chris Hungerford, Brown-Forman vice president of global design.
“The new glass structure has a slight taper with a shoulder embossed Old Forester Distillery and features the established date of 1870. This new design recognises the longevity of the brand and reinforces Old Forester’s authenticity.
“The label shifts from a clear label to paper one with added Greek key border that reflects early Old Forester designs with a modern execution.”
One-litre sizes of the new bottles will begin shipping in February and March, while 750ml sizes will be distributed in late spring.
Brown-Forman is currently building a new US$45 distillery for Old Forester in Louisville, Kentucky, which will double production capacity for the brand.
