London’s Mahiki launches coconut rum liqueur
London-based tiki nightclub Mahiki has unveiled a coconut rum liqueur and a trio of bottled cocktails inspired by the bar’s cocktail menu.
Bottled at 21% abv, Mahiki Coconut Rum liqueur is a blend of Jamaican and Polynesian rums with Western Samoan coconuts.
The clear glass bottle has been designed by British fashion designer Henry Holland and features bright, colourful Polynesian tiki motifs, Hawaiian botanicals and flora.
Mahiki bar manager, Georgi Radev, said: “There is a very pleasant coconut flavour, and you can really taste the rum base. It lends itself well as a base for cocktails, and also stands out as a distinctive spirit on its own.”
Distributed by Cellar Trends, Mahiki Coconut Rum liqueur is available at an off-trade guide RRP of £14 for a 700ml bottle.
The new bottled cocktails comprise Treasure Chest, Pina Colada and Coconut Grenade, and hail from Mahiki’s menu.
Presented in single serve 200ml bottles, the cocktails are set to launch in the on- and off-trade in spring at an RRP of £1.90 each.
Additionally, Radev has teamed up with Cellar Trends and promoter katl-ist to launch a Mahiki Coconut road show, starting with Edinburgh and Cardiff.
The shows will run for several nights and host trade guests and parties for consumers. Special guests include celebrity DJs and television personalities from Made in Chelsea and TOWIE, including Alex Mytton, Rosie Fortescue, Hugo Heathcote, Mark Wright and Kara Rose Marshall.
The Mayfair-based nightclub is a favoured hotspot for celebrities including Prince Harry and One Direction.
The Polynesian and tiki-themed chain also has a venue in Dubai, with a third venue set to open this spring in Manchester by former England football player, Gary Neville.
