Funkin launches ‘cocktail-ready’ mixers

Fruit purée brand Funkin has launched a trio of cocktail mixers in the off-trade, aimed at “breaking down the barriers” faced in home cocktail-making.

The ‘cocktail-ready’ range includes Skinny Mojito, Passion Fruit Martini and Strawberry Daiquiri

Packaged in silver cocktail shakers, the trio includes Skinny Mojito, Passion Fruit Martini and Strawberry Daiquiri.

The skinny version of the Mojito contains less than 100 calories per cocktail, inclusive of the spirit.

According to Funkin, the cocktail shakers allow consumers to make perfectly balanced, chilled cocktails at home, with each shaker making four cocktails. Shoppers simply need to add spirit and ice, shake and serve.

The three-piece shaker has a measuring cap and measure line to allow for the precise amount of spirit and a strainer to filter the cocktail from the ice.

Funkin managing director, Andrew King, said: “Funkin is once again leading the way in cocktail innovation. With our new shaker range designed specifically for the off-trade we are making it easy for consumers to prepare bar-quality cocktails at home, eliminating the guesswork.

“There is a huge untapped opportunity in the off-trade and we are especially excited about this unique product as it provides our customers with a point of difference in the spirits aisle that will help increase spirits sales while growing the overall cocktail category.”

The launch is being supported with the brand’s largest outdoor and digital advertising campaign as well as social media, PR, sampling and in-store activity.

Funkin’s cocktail shakers are available in 6 x 400ml cases and have a nine-month ambient shelf life.

The trio are available in grocery stores from next month and will roll out to convenience stores later this year.

Earlier this month, Funkin partnered with Jägermeister and Be At One bar group to launch what’s thought to be the first commercially available shrub – Funkin Pro Beetroot Shrub Syrup.
