Dirty Martini acquires 10th site

CG Restaurants & Bars has continued the expansion of its Dirty Martini chain with the acquisition of a site in Manchester, its first venture in the north of England.

Dirty Martini Hanover Square is one of eight venues in London

Following its first stage of national expansion in the Welsh city of Cardiff, CG Restaurants & Bars has purchased a venue in Deansgate from Bruntwood Estates Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The group plan to invest £1.5 million in the conversion of the 6,700 square foot three-floor retail and office space, which is due to open in summer 2017.

The bar group currently operates eight sites in London in Bishopsgate, Clapham, Covent Garden, Hanover Square, Islington, Monument, St Paul’s, Minories.

The Manchester venue will become the 10th site and will join Cardiff as the second venue to open outside of London.

The expansion builds upon the success of Dirty Martini Cardiff, which has exceeded budgeted sales by 10.2%, reporting more than 12,000 pre-booked covers since opening late October.

Scott Matthews, chief executive officer at Dirty Martini, said: “We are excited about opening our first site outside London in the north, in Manchester. Our recent expansion in Cardiff has been a huge success, and as a result we are progressing with our national expansion strategy with confidence.”
