The Dram Team seeks out ‘dramprentice’
By Kristiane SherryMonthly whisky subscription club The Dram Team has created a “dramprentice” role in an effort to find a part-time, whisky-loving assistant.
The Dram Team has launched a search for a ‘dramprentice’The role itself will combine marketing, social media and customer service – and of course, whisky tasting.
In addition to the unusual job title, the application process also takes on an unexpected twist – the team is welcoming tasting note tweets to get recruitment under way.
The dramprentice will get a competitive intern salary, flexible working hours and get to attend whisky events around the UK.
The Dram Team was set up by UK-based entrepreneurs and spirits professionals earlier this year to provide whisky fans with subscription tasting packs.
Boxes are available on a one-off basis for £30, with standard subscriptions available on 3-, 6- and 12-month terms.
“The Dram Team was originally conceived nine months ago following tasty inspiration from The Spicery [a curry club subscription business] and a chat with my long-time friend, sounding-board, dedicated whisky-fan and now co-founder, James Glen,” said co-founder Chris Borrow.
“We’ve been steadily building up to launch ever since, and it is simply a happy coincidence that we’ve reached the starting line during a real boom period for the industry, with more and more people looking to explore and get into whisky.”
