Koval Distillery releases Barreled Peach Brandy

Chicago-based Koval Distillery has released Barreled Peach Brandy, the first in a new line of limited edition spirits named Susan for President.

The new offering is distilled from organic peaches and aged in rye barrels

The new offering is distilled from organic peaches and aged in rye barrels, and is the first release in a series inspired by the distillery founder’s aunt Susan.

Barrel Peach Brandy is described as having “hints of white tea, wild flower, and bergamot” while on the palate it has a “warm, round and fuzzy mouth feel that mimics biting into a fresh peach with a creamy butterscotch finish.”

Koval co-founder and president Sonat Birnecker Hart, said: “Susan for President is an homage to my aunt Susan, an artist, sculptor, and connoisseur of finer things.

“As part of her artistic approach to life, she casually campaigned for president of the world, passing out calling cards adorned with humorous, often risqué illustrations, and slogans such as ‘Up with fun in 91’, and ‘I’m with you in ’92’.

“The promotion of her unattainable goal had little to do with becoming president of anything; she hated bureaucracy. Rather, she campaigned as a celebration of art, the joys of life, and the constant striving to be the greatest version of oneself imaginable.”

The label is made using gold foil, embossing, laser cutting, and die cutting.

Barreled Peach Brandy is available in the US at ezras.com at an RRP of US$49 per 375ml bottle and is expected to launch in select national markets in the future.

In April this year, Koval Distillery moved into barrel-aged gin with the launch of Koval Barreled Gin.
