TWE Whisky Show visitors sink 175,000 drams

Visitors to the UK’s “biggest” whisky festival, The Whisky Exchange Whisky Show, enjoyed more than £500,000 (US$636,000) worth of whisky over the two-day event.

Whiskies ranged in value from £40 to £15,000

Approximately 175,000 drams were poured by 100 distilleries from across the world, with whiskies ranging in value from £40 to £15,000.
Show manager, Andrew Milne, of The Whisky Exchange, said: “This weekend has been a huge success for us, reflected in the volumes and value of whisky consumed.
“There have been more than 2,500 visitors enjoying the whisky over the last two days.
“When we totted up the figures it was pretty humbling to think that we have brought this incredible selection of whisky together for people to enjoy.”
Specialist spirits retailer The Whisky Exchange, which organises the event, hopes to offer consumers even more at next year’s show.
Milne added: “The show continues to grow year on year and next year we hope we’ll attract more exhibitors, create new features and build on the show experience for our visitors.
