New gin delivery service focuses on ‘craft’

A specialist gin members’ club has launched in the UK, offering gin fans monthly deliveries of “craft” bottlings from independent distilleries throughout the country.

Wight Mermaids Gin is the first delivery from gin subscription service The Juniper Club

The Juniper Club, which launched this month, says it provides a “hassle-free, time-saving solution to enjoy a different, unique, craft gin each month”.

Costing £35.00 a month, the subscription service is available on either a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis.

The first Juniper Club gin delivery, made earlier this month, was of Wight Mermaids Gin, created by the Isle of Wight Distillery. The distillery was granted the first and only distilling license on the island.

Subscribers do not receive any clues relating to their gin delivery and are encouraged to reveal which bottlings they receive on social media, before the delivery is announced on The Juniper Club’s website.

In September this year, London distiller Sipsmith launched its own gin subscription service after raising 200% of its target on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.
