Bottega launches vegan liqueur and Italian gin

Treviso-based Italian drinks group Bottega has added a vegan cream liqueur and an Italian gin to its product portfolio.

Showcased on-stand at the TFWA World Exhibition, both products are available alongside the company’s signature Prosecco, limoncello, grappa and liqueur lines.

The liqueur, Crema di Pistacchio, is described as “pleasantly sweet” with an “intense aroma of pistachio”.

Made from pistachios grown on the foothills of Mount Etna, a volcano on Sicily, suggested serves for the 17% abv liqueur include sipping on its own, as an accompaniment for pastries and ice creams, and as an ingredient for cocktails.

Also launched in Cannes is Bacûr Dry Gin, produced in Italy using juniper, lemon zest and sage. Ingredients are grown in the Italian Alps, while the gin itself is blended at Bottega’s distillery.

In addition to a traditional G&T, suggested serves for the 40% abv gin include a long drink make with 40 ml of the gin gin, a wedge of lime, a slice of cucumber and a mint sprig, served in a tumbler topped with Pimento ginger beer.

“Although we are more recognised as wine and grappa producers, we hope it will reap a good success,” a company spokesperson said.

Last year, Bottega passed the million bottles a year milestone for its Limoncino limoncello brand.
