Woodford Reserve named partner of Magic Millions

Kentucky-based distiller Woodford Reserve has announced a new partnership with Jeep Magic Millions Carnival, Australia’s ‘richest’ horse racing day.

The three-year contract with Jeep Magic Millions Carnival includes exclusive Bourbon service and activations around the Gold Coast event as well as the Gold Coast yearling sale.

The Jeep Magic Millions Carnival became Australia’s first AU$10 million race day in 2016, offering huge prize money on a nine race program with seven races worth AU$1 million or more.

The race day will span over 10 days from 8 January, culminating in the official race day on 14 January.

Internationally, Woodford Reserve is associated with famed horse racing events including the Kentucky Derby in the US and Royal Ascot in the UK.

Magic Millions managing director, Vin Cox, said: “For Woodford Reserve to pin its colours to the Magic Millions sales around Australia speaks volumes for the direction in which we are heading. Placing us alongside the likes of the Kentucky Derby and Royal Ascot in the brand’s global equine platform.”

The Magic Millions Carnival runs from 8-14 January 2017 on Queensland’s Gold Coast and in Western Australia from 7-21 February 2017.

In June this year, Woodford Reserve expanded its Distillery Series with the launch of Five Malt.
