Spirit France appoints Der Sahaguian as CEO

Calvados and Armagnac producer Spirit France has appointed Serge Der Sahaguian as its new CEO, effective 1 September.

A graduate of the ECAM Lyon Engineering School, Der Sahaguian began his career at Pernod Ricard in 1998 as sales and marketing director at the Yerevan Brandy Company.

In 2005 he was appointed global export director for Wyborowa, before joining Belvédère Group as managing director of its Russian business in 2007.

Der Sahaguian takes over from Christophe Clavé, who served as CEO from October 2007. Clave remains an active shareholder of the group at board level, but is no longer responsible for any operational activity.

In a statement, Spirit France says Der Sahaguian’s appointment will “provide the guidance and direction to excel Spirit France into sustainable growth and prosperity”.

Normany-based Spirit France produces a number of brands including Père Magloire calvados and and Armagnac Janneau.

Its products are present in more than 80 countries through a network of more than 200 distributors.
