UK’s RumFest returns for 10th anniversary year

RumFest, founded by global rum ambassador Ian Burrell, has announced a series of tastings, talks and auctions to celebrate its 10th anniversary year.

RumFest will return for its 10th anniversary year in October

The next edition of the UK’s largest festival dedicated to rum will take place on 22-23 October at London’s ILEC, featuring more than 400 rums.

Visitors will have an opportunity to taste rums from exhibitors including Diplomatico, Havana Club, Don Q, Bacardi, Mount Gay, Pussers, St. Nicholas Abbey, Richland Rum and many more.

Seminars and workshops will also take place across the two-day event, featuring a rare rum seminar with Ian Burrell, a sit down with master distiller Ian Seale, and a seminar from author Dave Broom.

Reggae Reggae Sauce creator Levi Roots will give an insight into his culinary methods on the main stage, while auction house Christie’s returns to sell more rare rum bottlings for charity and Beach Bum Berry hosts a tiki cocktail masterclass.

“When we launched 10 years ago we could never have imagined how successful RumFest would become,” said Burrell. “For us rum has always been a way of life and we’re thrilled to still be spreading the word and celebrating the spirit a decade on.

“We’ve got something for everyone this year with even more rums, tastings and talks as we hope to make RumFest 2016 one to remember for rum-lovers up and down the country.”

Standard day tickets are available for £39.50, which includes access to all areas of the event and tastings from all exhibitors. VIP tickets are on sale from £69.50 and allow for early access of one hour ahead of standard ticket buyers along with a three course Caribbean lunch.

Golden Tot tokens, costing £5.00 each, give visitors additional access to the more premium rums. One token can be exchanged for rum retailing £80 to £100 and more expensive rums will be available for additional tokens.
