La Part Des Anges Cognac auction opens lots to UK bidders

The 10^th La Part Des Anges auction will take place next month in Cognac, allowing bidders outside of the region to compete for exclusive lots for the first time.

The ‘La Part des Anges’ invites Cognac lovers from around the world to take part for the first time

The La Part Des Anges will be held on the banks of the Charente River on Thursday 22 September. For 2016, the charity auction will go global for the first time, with auction organisers inviting Cognac enthusiasts from around the world to take part.

This year 24 exclusive Cognac blends and decanters will be on offer. With estimated prices ranging from €1,500 – €20,000, all proceeds will be donated to the Apprentices Auteuil Foundation, a local charity that helps disadvantaged young people.

The Bureau National Interprofessionnel du Cognac (BNIC), the body representing Cognac producers, says the event is a unique opportunity for bars and consumers to make an investment in an exclusive Cognac showpiece while also donating to charity.

Bidders will be able to join in remotely, taking part in the auction live online facilitated by auction house Artcurial, with the event supported by three Michelin starred chef Guy Savoy.

Earlier this month, UK drinks industry charity The Benevolent launched its first online action to raise funds for its ongoing work.
