Kingsbarns intros Founders’ Club instalments
By Kristiane SherryFife-based Kingsbarns Distillery has made its £500 Founders’ Club membership programme more accessible with the introduction of an instalment plan.
Kingsbarn Distillery has introduced monthly instalments for its Founders’ Club as its Scotch comes of ageLaunched in November 2015, the Founders Club programme is open to just 3,000 members globally.
For a fee, those in the club are sent a welcome pack, comprising a 20cl bottle of Kingsbarns Distillery New Make Spirit, a Founders’ Club Glencairn glass, a membership badge and a welcome letter.
In addition, a number of exclusive Founders’ Club events are planned, including a Founder’s Club dinner and free daytime tours scheduled for 3 September. During the event, members will become the first to taste the distillery’s 18-month-old spirit drawn from the first cask.
Membership is priced at £500, plus delivery charges, however the instalment scheme now gives would-be members the opportunity to spread the cost.
While subject to an administration fee of £20 on the first instalment, the new payment method sees memberships start from £45 per month for UK subscribers.
William Wemyss, one of the Wemyss family owners and Kingsbarns Distillery managing director said: “The first ever bottles of Kingsbarns Single Malt will be bottled exclusively for members of our Founders’ Club. It is expected that some of the first casks ever filled will be selected for the first bottling around mid-2018. Members will receive a bottle of this exclusive Kingsbarns Founders’ Club Reserve, enabling them to become one of the first to taste Kingsbarns Single Malt.
“Following that, each year for four subsequent years, members will receive a further Founders’ Club Reserve bottle, allowing members to enjoy the progression of our single malt.”
Earlier this year, Kingsbarns Distillery launched a free minibus service to enable visitors to more easily visit the Lowland site.
