Big Peat whisky launches Edinburgh Edition

Scotch whisky bottler Douglas Laing & Co has launched Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition, a limited release coinciding with the city’s Fringe Festival.

Just 180 bottles of Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition have been created, featuring famous landmarks around the city

The latest bottling honours Scotland’s capital, with iconic landmarks prominently displayed on the bottle’s label and gift tube. Just 180 bottles of Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition will be produced, each individually numbered.

Tourists and locals alike will spot Big Peat’s many travel stamps, marking his visits to Waverley Station, The Scott Monument and Edinburgh Castle.

Launched in 2009, Big Peat is a blend of malt whiskies created in Islay.

Cara Laing of Douglas Laing & Co said: “Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition is bottled in line with the Douglas Laing philosophy; proudly without colouring or chill-filtration, and at a high alcohol strength of 48%. “Whilst Big Peat embodies the spirit of ‘his’ island home of Islay, this special bottling transports him and indeed the drinker to the cobbled streets and grassy hills of Edinburgh.”

Big Peat’s Edinburgh Edition will be available through a handful of Edinburgh retailers, as well as Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange, The Green Welly Stop and DouglasLaing.com.

Earlier this month, Douglas Laing announced a new distribution partnership with De Monnik Dranken in the Netherlands.
