Stock Spirits strengthens distribution role

Central and Eastern European group Stock Spirits has bolstered its role as a distributor, signing agreements with both Distell and Synergy Group and opening up new routes to market.

Stock Spirits has bolstered its distribution portfolio and partnered with both Distell and Synergy Group

Stock Spirits will now handle distribution in Italy and Slovenia for Distell’s Amarula cream liqueur, Scotch whiskies Black Bottle and Scottish Leader, and Cognac brand Bisquit.

“We are delighted to be working with such strong distribution businesses in these two markets and we look forward to the long-term development of our relationship and our brands with committed partners,” said Fraser Thornton, Distell Europe managing director.

In addition, the Stock Spirits also announced an agreement with Synergy Group, effective July 2016, to exclusively distribute super-premium Beluga Vodka in Poland.

“Poland is the third largest vodka market in the world by value and one of the most attractive emerging markets in Europe, with strong growth for super premium spirits,” said Alexander Mechetin, Synergy chairman of the management board.

“Poland is therefore an exciting opportunity for Beluga. We are pleased to team up in Poland with Stock Spirits. With their proven marketing and commercial skills and strong branded spirits portfolio, Stock Spirits is a perfect fit for Beluga as we look to drive further growth in this attractive emerging market, giving Beluga strategic focus and enhanced distribution.”

Synergy Group adds that it will now work with previous distributor, MV Poland, to ensure a “seamless transition for the business and customers in the market”.

Stock Spirits, which has faced a shareholder revolt in recent months, recently announced a special dividend of 10p per share in an effort to calm investors’ nerves.
