Mr Fogg’s unveils ‘gin encyclopedia’ menu
By Annie HayesLondon bar Mr Fogg’s Gin Parlour has introduced The Encyclopedia Gintonica which contains more than 300 gins from across the globe – one of two new menus from the venue.
The new menu offers more than nine million potential Gin and Tonic combinationsIn offering 27 tonics and botanicals, the collection allows for more than nine million possible Gin and Tonic combinations, and is intended to be “one of the most discerning gin menus to date”.
The encyclopedia is separated into 10 individual categories, including London Dry, Old Tom, Light and Crisp, American, Floral and Aromatic, Fruity, Genever, Barrel Aged, Vintage and Gin Liqueurs.
Mr Fogg’s boasts one of London’s largest gin collections, offering a wide variety of gins ranging from international brands to local distillers; rare vintage gins to gin liqueurs.
The Gin Parlour will also introduce new cocktail menu, A Tale of Tails, inspired by “the golden pastime of theatre”.
Designed as a “cocktail adventure”, the list contains concoctions such as A Dram-atic Entrance, made with Haig Club Scotch whisky, apple and tarragon syrup, Peychaud’s Bitters, orange bitters and an absinthe rinse; The Classic Panto-rye-me, which combines Bulleit Rye whiskey, kummel, saffron syrup, lemon juice, liquorice bitters and egg white; and What a Load of Cobblers, a wine cocktail made with Cointreau Noir, orgeat, orange, lemon and white wine with shaved Ice.
The menu highlights gin cocktails with an Old Tom Cat, the hidden symbol for gin drinking establishments in Victorian times.
