Johnnie Walker House makes cruise liner debut

Diageo has partnered with Dream Cruises to launch its Johnnie Walker House at sea on board Asian cruise ship Genting Dream.

Johnnie Walker House has announced a partnership with Dream Cruises

Thatcher Brown, president of Dream Cruises and Lawrence Law, global director for Johnnie Walker House, marked the joint partnership  by unveiling eight bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue Label engraved with the Dream Cruises logo during a roadshow event in Beijing.

The collection, designed and produced to commemorate the opening of Johnnie Walker House on what is the “first ever” Asian luxury cruise line, will be made available for purchase for cruise passengers.

Law said: “At Johnnie Walker House, we are constantly innovating new and unique whisky experiences to cater to the demands of luxury consumers today. With the launch of Johnnie Walker House on Genting Dream, we are creating a flagship home for Scotch whisky at sea. As the 21st property globally, this is an exciting moment for Johnnie Walker House in Asia and we look forward to introducing our heritage and brand to a new audience, on board this stunning new ship.”

The house on Genting Dream will retain signature Johnnie Walker House features, including a tasting bar offering whiskies from the Johnnie Walker Super Deluxe portfolio, and a ‘whisky constellation wall’ which offers a comprehensive index of Scotch whisky distilleries to indicate the brand’s access to more than seven million casks of whiskies to create blends. There will also be a blending table and malt wall display.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase a selection of the rare John Walker & Sons variants and single malts unavailable elsewhere. Bottles may be purchased duty free and personally engraved.

In addition, unique Johnnie Walker cocktails will be offered on board along with whisky and food pairing menus.

Brown said: We are delighted that Genting Dream will feature the world’s very first Johnnie Walker House at sea. Whisky appreciation in Asia is significant and growing, and guests on Genting Dream will be able to learn more about the art of producing the very finest Scotch whiskies. I’m sure they will also greatly enjoy appreciating some of the world’s most prestigious Scotch whiskies in the company of fellow connoisseurs.”
