Espresso Martini-only bar debuts in Oz

The owner of a craft coffee café in Sydney is moving into cocktails with the launch of a new bar that specialises in Espresso Martinis.

The new bar is owned by Kansas City Shuffle’s Benjamin Sweeten

The new bar, Tuxedo, is located in what used to be the original Cadbury Chocolate factory in The Rocks, and is due to open mid-August.

The brainchild of Kansas City Shuffle’s Benjamin Sweeten; Tuxedo will offer just six variations of Espresso Martinis.

A classic Espresso Martini will be available on tap, and the menu will also boast a Martini made with with cold-drip filtered coffee infused with 666 Pure Tasmanian Vodka; a Martini featuring melted Cadbury Chocolate, shards of shaved chocolate, chocolate liqueur and a shot of single-origin espresso; a rum-based offering containing Golden Rum, single-origin espresso, coffee liqueur and chocolate bitters.

The bar will also feature a wine list, with Young Henrys craft beer on tap. The local brewery plans to collaborate with the Tuxedo and create a beer-based Espresso Martini in the near future.

Sweeten told Broadsheet: “I wanted to capitalise on something that we’re already really passionate about, espresso, and fill a niche in the market for a cool place to drink really good Espresso Martinis in the city after work.”
