Bruhn has stepped down from the role in order to relocate to Australia, a Diageo spokesperson has confirmed.

He has been succeeded by former Samsung executive Vince Hudson, who most recently acted as vice president, US Marketing and Mobile Business Unit at the electronics company.

Prior to joining Samsung, Hudson spent 20 years with Procter & Gamble where he served as vice president in the Beauty Care Division. He also previously led P&G’s South Asia Beauty Care Business in Singapore and Cosmetics Business in North America.

“We are truly delighted to have Vince’s depth of marketing expertise, his commercial mind-set and his leadership to drive the strategy for the Smirnoff brand and look forward to his many contributions,” a Diageo spokesperson said.

Hudson will be based in New York and will report to both David Gates, global head of premium core spirits at Diageo, and James Thompson, chief marketing and innovation officer for Diageo North America.
