Whisky Live makes Kentucky debut

Hosted in more than 20 cities around the world, Whisky Live is readying to launch in Louisville, Kentucky later this month.

Whisky Live will launch in Louisville, Kentucky later this month

A wide range of whiskies from across the globe will be available for sampling at Kentucky’s first Whisky Live, which rounds off The Kentucky Bourbon Affair, a week-long showcase of all things Bourbon.

Featuring a Bourbon-infused dinner buffet, open tastings, live entertainment, a souvenir Glencairn tasting glass, event program and educational classes, guests will also have the opportunity to network with industry experts from abroad.

Karen Williams, president and CEO of the Louisville CVB, said: “The Kentucky Bourbon Affair has become one of our city’s signature Bourbon events. The addition of Whisky Live only elevates it further and adds to our tourism strategy of making Louisville a world-class destination.”

Louisville now joins New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C. as the only US cities to host the event.
“We are excited to announce this long overdue launch of Whisky Live in Louisville, home of Bourbon and America’s Gateway to Whiskey. In addition to a fantastic array of Bourbons and American whiskeys from across the country, there will also be distillers and ambassadors from around the globe to offer samples and insight into their sought-after brands,” said founder Dave Sweet.

The event will be held at Bourbon-themed hotel Louisville Marriott East on Saturday, 18 June.
Eric Gregory, KDA president, added: “This is an incredible opportunity to showcase the Southern hospitality and genteel spirit that makes Kentucky Bourbon and Louisville the perfect world-class destination for Bourbon newcomers and aficionados around the world.”
