Spirit Cartel makes key appointments

London-based importer Spirit Cartel has expanded its sales team, appointing David Hood director of sales, and Adam Peters-Ennis as head of multiples.

David Hood joins Spirit Cartel from Proximo Spirits

Hood, former on-trade sales manager at Proximo Spirits, has been responsible for the substantial growth of several premium spirits on the market, including Jose Cuervo.

Meanwhile Peters-Ennis, who also joins from Proximo Spirits, has experience both sides of the bar, and has managed the London on-trade for brands including Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka and Seagram’s Gin.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to work with some outstanding brands, including Four Roses Bourbon and Don Q Rum,” Hood said.

“Spirit Cartel is an exciting and influential business which punches way above its weight. We are targeting a £10m turnover in the next three years and have ambitions to broaden our scope and impact across the country from our home territory in London.”

Peters-Ennis added: “Spirit Cartel had been in my sights for a long time thanks to its unique branding and creative outlook, as well as its fantastic compendium of amazing brands. My experience across the spectrum means that I am able to bring an expert eye to really give the Spirit Cartel booty the boost it deserves and advance its ambitions in London.”

Charles Marshall, Spirit Cartel “consiglieri”, commended: “It’s a bit of a coup to bring both David and Adam into the Spirit Cartel inner sanctum. Their unrivalled experience and contacts in the trade will be invaluable in growing our presence and portfolio, as well as engaging with bartenders and spreading the word.

“These appointments are another weapon to the arsenal, and along with the recent recruitment of a Four Roses Brand ambassador, herald the next phase of the Cartel’s assault on all things cocktail!’’

Spirit Cartel has brought a number of premium spirits products to the market in recent months such as Tequila Clase Azul – including an Ultra Extra Añejo variant with a £2,399 price tag.
