Sipsmith launches London Cup for summer

London-based Sipsmith Distillery has introduced The Original London Cup, a gin-based serve drawing inspiration from punches and cups found in the city in the 1800s.

Sipsmith has introduced a London Cup serve in time for summer

Created from the distillery’s London Dry Gin and infused with blended Earl Grey tea, borage, lemon verbena and other botanicals, the “sublimely sippable cup” was created to be served long with lemonade.

According to Sipsmith, the nose offers notes of burnt orange, caramel, cucumber and tea leaves on the nose, and marmalade, herbaceous notes and cherry on the palate. The finish comprises scorched oak and bittersweet spice.

Sipsmith London Cup retails at around £19 for a 70cl bottle.

Earlier this year, Sipsmith commemorated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a limited edition bottling of its gin.
