LIC frozen cocktails have hit Sainsbury’s stores across the UKShort for ‘Love Iced Cocktails’, LIC are said to be the “world’s first” fully frozen cocktails with an alcoholic strength of 10% abv.
Each lolly contains one shot of Plantation Rum, and can be stored ambient on the shelf before being frozen for a party or dropped into an ice bucket with no mixing required.
LIC founders and childhood best friends Harry Stimpson and Noah Geeves developed the formula and technology to freeze alcohol for consumption up to 15% abv.
The pair studied engineering respectively at Nottingham University and Imperial College London, and after working with Diageo, spotted a gap in the frozen alcoholic beverages market to launch LIC.
The company went on to receive endorsement from London bar, Mahiki, becoming its first investor.
Two flavours are available at present, with a third said to be in development stages.
Containing only 67 calories, LIC’s frozen cocktails are available nationwide at the RRP of £3.
