Denis O’Flynn departs Pernod Ricard UK

Denis O’Flynn is to step down as managing director of Pernod Ricard’s UK arm after 16 years at the company.

O’Flynn joined Irish Distillers, the Irish whiskey arm of French drinks group Pernod Ricard, in 2000 from Guinness Ireland. He held a number of management positions across operations, human resources and sales until his appointment as managing director of Pernod Ricard UK in 2011.

Laurent Pillet, currently managing director of Pernod Ricard Sub-Saharan Africa, will take over from Flynn from 1 September 2016. He will report to Christian Porta, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard EMEA & LATAM.

In a statement, Pernod Ricard said of O’Flynn: “His entrepreneurial style and vast knowledge of the industry allowed the company to go through a significant and successful transformation in a complex and competitive market.”

Paul-Robert Bouhier, currently MD of Pernod Ricard Singapore-Thailand-Cambodia and emerging markets, will take over as MD of Pernod Ricard Sub-Saharan Africa.

Cedric Retailleau, currently MD of Pernod Ricard Italia and Pernod Ricard Southern Europe, will succeed Bouhier as MD of Pernod Ricard Singapore-Thailand-Cambodia and other SEA.

Albena Trifonova, currently Pernod Ricard EMEA business development director, will replace Retailleau as MD of Pernod Ricard Italia and Pernod Ricard Southern Europe. In turn, she will be replaced by Christophe Lemarié, MD of Pernod Ricard Hellas.

Cyril Claquin, currently marketing director of Pernod Ricard Rouss and Pernod Ricard Eastern Europe, will become marketing director of Pernod Ricard Hellas. He will be replaced by Paul-André Vacheron, director of strategic planning at Pernod Ricard Rouss.

Michael Merolli, current managing director of Pernod Ricard Norway, has been named marketing director of Pernod Ricard China. He will be replaced by Eric Geffray, Pernod Ricard EMEA business development projects director.

Yuan Meng joins Pernod Ricard as human resources vice president of Pernod Ricard China, taking over from Angel Li.

All role changes will come into affect on 1 September 2016.

Meanwhile, from 1 July 2016, Hélène de Tissot, currently VP finance, Pernod Ricard Asia, will become group strategy and M&A director at Pernod Ricard HQ. She will be replaced by Ludovic Ledru, currently Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ CFO.

Julien Proglio, current strategy and M&A manager at Pernod Ricard HQ, will take over as CFO of Pernod Ricard Winemakers.

Earlier this month, Pernod Ricard confirmed that a number of employees in its Americas HQ have either left the company or relocated to a different department following a structural change announced in February.
