Organised by the Scottish section of the Institute of Brewing & Distilling, the summit is expected to attract hundreds of delegates from the around the world.

The 2017 theme is “‘Local roots, global reach: delivering distilling expertise to the world”, with the event billed as a platform for knowledge sharing among academics, industry experts, and trade and commercial partners.

“We will deliver a thought-provoking programme of presentations and posters, an extensive trade exhibition, and novel social events and networking opportunities,” said Alan Kennedy, chair of the Worldwide Distilled Spirits Conference organising committee.

“We look forward to welcoming all the conference participants and delegates to Glasgow next year.”

WDSC origins can be traced back to the 1980s and conferences hosted by the Institute of Brewing in Aviemore, Scotland. The event has grown to become a world-leading summit dedicated to spirits, with the most recent edition held in Glasgow in 2014.
