Wenneker Swizzle Masters extends Summer Scotch deadline

11th May, 2016 by Annie Hayes

The entry deadline for the Summer Scotch heat of the Wenneker Swizzle Masters has been extended until Monday 16 May.

The recipe must feature Balvenie 12 Year Old Doublewood as a base spirit

Shakers and stirrers from across the globe now have four additional days to craft a delightfully refreshing Scotch-based long drink to enter into this month’s Wenneker Swizzle Masters competition.

Using Balvenie 12 Year Old Doublewood, and at least a dash of Wenneker Liqueurs, bartenders are tasked to craft an original, inventive recipe perfect for sipping in the shade on a hot summer’s day.

On Thursday, 19 May at Bar Américain in Brasserie Zédel, our judging panel will assess 10 selected entries based on methodology, presentation, aroma, palate, balance and title.

The winning drink, as selected by the judging panel, will progress to the semi-final in October, when all nine winning drinks from throughout the year will be recreated once more and judged against each other.

Five drinks will then be chosen to go through to the grand final in November. The bartender behind the winning recipe will be crowned Wenneker Swizzle Master 2016 and scoop £1,000.
