Teeling marks milestone with single cask release

Teeling Whiskey Company has commemorated the first year of The Aviators Whiskey Society with the release of specially-selected bottling, The Aviators Single Cask.

Teeling has launched the celebratory expression in partnership with ARI, which manages the travel retail operations at Dublin and Cork Airports, and The Aviators Whiskey Society, which was set up by ARI retail staff in Dublin Airport.

Bottled at cask strength, the 12-year-old single malt was matured in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in ex-Californian cabernet sauvignon casks – which are said to impart a “well balanced, silky, stone fruit finish”.

The exclusive bottling was hand-selected by members of The Aviators Whiskey Society at a unique tasting event hosted by Jack Teeling at the Teeling Distillery, where more than 50 members of the society sampled four single cask expressions in a blind taste test.

A handcrafted, small batch release of just 306 bottles, The Aviators Single Cask is available to purchase exclusively through The Irish Whiskey Collection at The Loop, Dublin and Cork Airports, and also online on The Loop’s website.

The expression is available in 700ml bottles and priced at €85 (duty paid) and €73 (duty free).

Earlier this week, The Teeling Whiskey Company released the first liquid from its new distillery – Spirit of Dublin Irish Poitín.
