London’s Dirty Martini plans UK-wide expansion

London cocktail bar chain Dirty Martini has revealed plans for a nationwide expansion, beginning with a £1 million new venue in the Welsh capital Cardiff.

Dirty Martini is set to open its first venue outside of London – Cardiff

Due to open in September 2016, Dirty Martini owner CG Restaurants & Bars has acquired the former Maddison site on St Marty Street and will be investing the money into renovating the 10,000 square feet space and hiring 65 new members of staff.

Dirty Martini currently has London bars in Bishopsgate, Clapham, Covent Garden, Hanover Square, Islington, Monument and St Paul’s.

“This is a big step for us and Cardiff’s strong economic growth and outstanding nightlife offers the brand a fantastic opportunity to establish Dirty Martini amongst a city of discerning cocktail lovers,” said Scott Matthews, chief executive officer at Dirty Martini.

“I have an affinity with Cardiff having started my career at local institution The Philharmonic in 1995.

“It’s one of the best nights out in the country and we look forward to brining Dirty Martini to the Welsh Capital.”

CG Restaurants and Bars expects Dirty Martini sales for 2016 to reach £12.5m.
