Hood River agrees ‘strategic partnership’ for gin

Hood River Distillers will help drive growth of Captive Spirits’ Big Gin brandThe founders of Captive Spirits – Ben Capdevielle and Holly Robinson – will continue to lead operations at the Seattle, Washington distillery, but Hood River will “provide an experienced team” to navigate growth and distribution.
“We are thrilled to announce this pivotal partnership with Hood River Distillers, a Northwest-based, family-owned and family-operated business,” said Ben Capdevielle, distiller and founder of Captive Spirits.
“Our grassroots efforts have gotten us to where we are, and we are honoured to have the support of the Hood River Distillers team to help with our continued growth and the support of Big Gin in markets in the US and beyond.”
Captive Spirits is set to expand production with the build of a new distillery, which is expected to commence operation this autumn. The facility will be based in Seattle’s Ballard shipyard will feature an additional still and tasting room. Currently, the company produces 7,500 cases annually.

In July last year, Hood River extended its Pendleton Canadian blended whisky portfolio with the addition of no-age-statement Pendleton Midnight.
