Daffy’s releases racing special edition gin
By Amy HopkinsBritish brand Daffy’s Gin has released a limited edition bottle design celebrating its partnership with Formula 1 team Manor Racing.
Daffy’s Gin Manor Racing Edition will debut at the Monaco Grand Prix later this weekJust 1,000 bottles of Daffy’s Manor Racing Edition have been made exclusively available to the on-trade from mid-May.
The limited edition includes a new recipe of botanicals, including fresh lime from Southern Spain, and special bottle design created by New York artist Robert McGinnis featuring classic 70s racing stripes and frames Daffy – the ‘goddess of gin’ – in the winner’s laurel wreath and gold cup.
Daffy’s Gin agreed a sponsorship deal with Manor Racing in March this year and debuted its logo on the team’s cars during the Australian Grand Prix.
“This is Daffy’s first ever limited edition and I’m incredibly proud of the result,” said Chris Molyneaux, master distiller and co-founder of Daffy’s Gin.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Manor Racing this year and wanted to create an exciting, fresh gin that captured the spirit, energy and derring-do of Manor Racing and F1.
“My personal goal was to push the boundaries of what people perceive as the traditional character of a London Dry Gin. It’s incredibly complex on the palette, but so balanced.”
Daffy’s Manor Racing Edition will debut at the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix later this week during Manor Racing’s official party. It is available to on-trade venues across the UK and Ireland, with limited on-trade distribution in global markets.
