Bulleit introduces barrel strength Bourbon

Bulleit Bourbon has added a barrel strength expression to its portfolioMade with using the same high-rye mash bill as the original, comprising approximately two thirds corn and one third rye, Bulleit Barrel Strength Frontier Whiskey is uncut, non-chill-filtered and bottled at Stitzel-Weller in Louisville.
The first launch will see just 5,000 cases of Bulleit Barrel Strength available only in Kentucky from select retailers, restaurants and bars following “overwhelming” positive feedback from tastings over the past year.
“Meeting with and listening to our bartender friends who are truly Bulleit’s partners has been the smartest thing we’ve done and they’ve responded with incredible passion about our new Bulleit Barrel Strength Bourbon,” commented Tom Bulleit, founder.
“This is a truly beautiful whiskey we’re sharing. I hope our fans really take the time to sip it slowly and responsibly because that ‘s how we’ve intended it to be enjoyed.”
Bulleit Barrel Strength is described as having “gentle” spiciness and sweet oak aromas, with maple, oak and nutmeg on the palate leading to a long, dry finish with light toffee and deep oak flavours.

“Bulleit was born in Kentucky, the state Tom and his family still call home to this day.
“As thousands of people head to the Bluegrass State for the best horse race in the country, we hope they’ll stop by the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery and pick up a bottle of Bulleit Barrel Strength.”
Bulleit Barrel Strength is bottled between 60% abv and 62.5% abv, and carries an RRP of US$49.99 per 750ml bottle or US$29.99 per 375ml.
