Barton 1792 unveils Full Proof Bourbon

Sazerac has launched the latest limited edition release from its Barton 1792 Distillery, Full Proof Bourbon, bottled at the same abv as when it entered the barrel.

Full Proof Bourbon is the fourth limited edition release of 1792 Bourbon expressions

New oak barrels were filled with 62.5% abv distillate in the autumn of 2007, and left to age in warehouses at the historic Barton 1792 Distillery for eight and a half years.

After the barrels were emptied, the Bourbon was passed through a plate and frame filter – forgoing chill filtration – allowing the spirit to maintain the same abv for bottling.

The aroma offers notes of vanilla and dried cherries, while the palate is “oaky and full bodied” with flavours of caramel and jam-like fruit.

Full Proof Bourbon is the fourth limited edition release of 1792 Bourbon expressions, following previous releases of Sweet Wheat, Port Finish, and Single Barrel Bourbons.

The expression is due to be released annually over the next few years, and will be available at the RRP of US$44.99.
